Known to many as "The First Slasher movie", The Texas Chain Saw Massacre came out in 1974.The movie follows Sally, her handicapped brother Franklin, and a few of her friends on a road trip in the rural parts of Texas. On there way they pick up a hitchhiker which eventually to the Sawyer Estate. The teens get picked off one by one by Leatherface, his brothers Nubins and Chop-Chop, and Grandpa. Sally escapes barley, riding on the back of a Chicken Truck, while a furious Leatherface dances. Fun Fact! The original Texas Chain Saw Massacre was originally going to be rated PG due to most of the violence being off screen and implied (similarly to Psycho), minor amounts of sex and toned back language. Although coming out with little critical success, this ammeter film was able to rake in over 4 times it's budget! However it wouldn't be until 1986, 12 years after the original, that we would get the sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. This sequel is very strange, especially when watched back to back with the original, because it paints Leatherface as a sympathetic villain and almost has a love story with Vanita (his cousin?). The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III came out in 1990 and mostly felt like a re-hash, or should I say reslash of the original. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation came out in 1994 and was strange to say the least. Now Leatherface wasn't crazy, he was just being payed by a 100% not Illuminati organization. Oh yeah and now he's Transgender which is actually pretty cool. We respect your opinion Leatherface! You do you! After The Next Generation was a flop, Warner Brothers (who had acquired the rights) made a re-make. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre hit theaters (with a hammer) in 2003 and was a remake of the original only giving Leatherface more of a backstory. But then there was another re-make, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning which follows Leatherface as a skinny, partially in jail teenager. The Texas Chainsaw 3D is defiantly the worst of the series with Michael Bay taking the reigns. Taking place 40 years later, this horrible re-make (though not even close to being bad as Slenderman) came out in 2013. Yet another remake came out in 2017 and was just a remake of the original.
So here are the time lines:
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation

Peace, Love and Chainsaws,
Boo! Did I scare you? I sure hope I didn't! I've always been a spooky hooman. When I was really little I would watch the Classic Universal Monster Movies with my stepdad. Then I would watch tons of Stephen Spielberg, Right Now I'm reading Stephen King left, right, up (like a floating balloon) and down (the Green Mile). I also like Slashers but who doesn't. I am currently writing a Slasher Horror Comedy Hip Hop Musical with my friend KQ!
